If teens aren't using Twitter, who is?

A couple of weeks ago, a teenager shocked the world by announcing that teens don't use Twitter. This passing remark in that now famous Morgan Stanley research note - which detailed the views of 15-year-old intern Matthew Robson on media and modern devices - set the London media and Twitter alight. The general response was: 'What does this kid know? How can he be representative of all teenagers?' With all the attention recently generated by Google's Chrome OS and Microsoft's Office 2010 previews, there seems to be something of a sea-change underway, with technology leaders new and old more widely embracing the cloud. IT news website V3.co.uk said that the economic crisis has slowed uptake of green IT products for the first time since 2007. This is hardly surprising. When times are good, it is easier to look beyond the bottom line, but when times are tough, new initiatives are made to jump through hoops. According to the Forrester Research study quoted by the report, 11% of the companies polled planned to slow down their sustainable IT initiatives, compared with 5% in October 2008. Some 38% were planning to maintain their pace, down from 39%.But the V3.co.uk report included one other interesting statistic: 12% of......

Top 5 tips for reducing mobile costs
published on

by
Anthony Plewes
Reducing mobile costs has become a priority for business over the last five years as staff become ever more mobile. Some analysts estimate that wireless costs in enterprises have increased by up to a third over the last five years, despite lower unit costs. We suggest five actions to help businesses reduce their mobile costs without damaging the business benefits that mobile technology provides them. 1. eliminate the 'black budget' The problem with controlling mobile spending is that much of it is unknown. This so-called black budget threatens to swell with the uptake of HSPA dongles and other connectivity methods. The key......
